Description

The PRD series bidirectional DC power supply is a programmable power supply with source and load functions, automatic 2-quadrant operation and the ability to absorb energy from the DUT and return it to the mains.

High power density

A solar array simulator is characterised by a high power density such as:

  • Power levels of up to 30 kW in a 3U enclosure
  • Weight of just 35kg, with a single standard 42U rack capable of accommodating 300 kW capacity
  • Efficiency of 95%
  • Significantly reduced test footprint, meeting commercial office transport, portability and distribution requirements

Ultra-high accuracy

The PRD series HV power supply offers output voltage accuracy of up to ±0.02% F.S. In addition, the DC power supply module has an integrated, independent, high-precision voltage and current measurement system that offers performance comparable to that of a 6½-digit digital multimeter. This configuration saves costs associated with high-voltage and high-precision DC voltmeters, high-precision current meters, power meters and impedance meters, and increases test efficiency while reducing test costs.

High dynamics

The rise time of the bidirectional DC power supply from 10 % to 90 % is only 500 µs, which is significantly faster than similar products. When the source load transitions from -100 % to 100 %, the PRD variable high-voltage supply achieves consistent results with minimal overshoot in just 1 ms.
