As your partner for measurement and test technology in the field of electronic loads, we would like to inform you of an important product change.
The proven PLI series will be officially discontinued as of December 31, 2026.
We recommend that you plan for any upcoming needs, expansions, or replacement units as soon as possible.

The Future of Measurement Technology - The New HES Series

With the discontinuation of the PLI devices, we are making way for the next generation of energy and performance testing. The HES series is the official successor and was specifically developed to meet the increased demands of modern test benches.

Of course, we would like to provide you with all the important answers to your technical questions regarding the transition below.

question mark blau

How long will technical support and the supply of replacement parts be guaranteed?

Support:
We have no plans to discontinue technical support for PLI devices. We will continue to provide support as usual.

Repairs & Replacement Parts:
We will continue to perform repairs as long as we are able to source the necessary replacement parts.

question mark blau

Can existing software scripts and programming commands continue to be used?

  • Yes, in most cases, the commands for the PLI series can also be used for the HES series.
  • The HES series command set has been expanded to include additional functions, but the existing PLI command set remains compatible.
  • To ensure a smooth transition, we are happy to provide you with a comparison of the SCPI commands (based on the PLI).
question mark blau

How long will technical support and spare parts be available? Is the new HES series mechanically and electrically compatible with the PLI series?

Mechanical:
The design and power density have remained the same, so in principle, little has changed for you during installation. The display has been updated. Depending on the model, there may be slight changes in the placement of connectors or ports.

Electrical:
The electrical performance specifications are virtually identical.

Digital Interfaces:
The RS-232, USB, LAN, CAN, and the optional GPIB are standard features in the HES series, just as they are in the PLI series.

I/O Port:
Both the I/O port of the PLI series and the I/O port of the HES series are 25-pin. Important: The pin assignments of the two I/O ports are different.

question mark blau

Can devices from the PLI and HES series be used in mixed operation?

Parallel Operation:
Mixed operation in a parallel configuration is possible.

Master-Slave Operation:
Please consult with H&H regarding this. We would be happy to advise you.

We are pleased to announce that the PMLA Series D multi-channel loads are now available from H&H!

Over the past few years, we have worked intensively to create modular, powerful, and high-precision solutions that can be used to load multiple devices under test simultaneously.

PMLA trio side (1)

Our new multi-channel load systems are ideal for test environments where multiple channels need to be operated in parallel – for example, for simultaneous testing of multiple electronic control units or other components.

Especially in the automotive or testing industry (e.g., vehicle electrical systems, control units, modular test objects), enormous amounts of test time can be saved when many assemblies can be loaded simultaneously.

Thanks to the modular architecture, flexible configuration is possible depending on the test task or system requirements.

Even in confined spaces in the test cabinet, the device can be integrated very well – without compromising on performance. When operating multiple channels synchronously, even complex test profiles can be mapped – ideal for series testing or automated test benches.

The devices are available to order now.

Our team is available to assist with configurations (e.g., number of channels, channel parameters, or integration into existing test environments) and is happy to provide individual advice and quotes.

The new PMLA series multi-channel load opens up significantly more efficient and precise testing options for our customers—whether in laboratory operations, series testing, or complex automation systems.

Testing Inductive Charging Systems

Today‘s charging technology is practical, fully automatic and inductive.
With the series launch of the world‘s first inductive charging system, BRUSA Elektronik AG has proven its position as a technology leader for electromobility.
The charging system is approved for operation in the EU, China, North America and Japan markets.
BRUSA continues its journey to develop and manufacture inductive charging systems with the 2nd generation.

Simulating Test Cases with Electronic Load

To simplify system integration and to achieve more test variations, a PLI11280 electronic load from Höcherl & Hackl was installed in the luggage compartment of the vehicle.
With the ID.4 RollingLab, various test cases can be carried out under real conditions for the further development of the ICS2 (Inductive Charging System Generation 2).
The main focus is on optimizing the energy transfer between the floor panel and the vehicle panel with up to 11 kW input power.
Further test cases are FOD (foreign object detection), LOD (live object detection) and positioning system under real vehicle conditions.
