Tool View 3 Phase

For the AC-DC electronic loads of the ACL series, the associated control software, the ACL Tool, is now available with among others the following functions.

In addition to the “Channel Coupling” setting, which is useful for three-phase applications, the load inputs of the existing channels are controlled centrally from each function view.

In the main window the most important device settings are made. These are, in addition to the basic operating mode of the control with associated setting value, the peak value of the current limitation, AC or DC mode and the data acquisition.

Data Acquisition

There are two different types of data acquisition: a high-resolution one, whose measurement data is stored internally in the load, and a low-resolution one for long measurements, which is controlled by the software tool and which saves the data to a CSV file on the PC.

Waveforms

The AC waveform of the load current and its synchronization source can be configured. The waveforms can be created, edited, exported and imported in the ACL tool. All waveforms can be modified by crest factor, phase cut and phase shift (phase shift only possible in combination with crest factor or phase cut).

  • Sinusoidal waveform
  • Harmonic waveform
    A harmonic waveform can be configured by entering the percentages of even and odd harmonics up to the 25th order.
  • Arbitrary waveform
    Arbitrary waveforms are possible with 360 individually editable points. For ease of use, the arbitrary waveform can be derived from a sinusoidal, triangular or rectangular reference waveform.

List and Rectangle Editor

The „List“ function view offers the following functions and settings:

  • Defining a load profile in the chosen operating mode
  • Number of iterations
  • Synchronous data acquisition with individual sample rate for each load profile section
  • Loading a *.LST load profile
  • Saving the generated load profile as *.LST file (e.g. for direct list import from a USB mass storage device at the electronic load)

In the “Rectangular” function view, a simple square wave signal is defined by amplitude, offset, dwell time “Time High” as well as dwell time “Time Low”. From this, frequency and duty cycle are calculated and displayed.

The display elements of the measured value and status bar show currently measured values as well as important status signals of all available channels of the system.

The software supports the following data interfaces: RS-232, USB, LAN, GPIB, CAN.

NL Spiegelung discontinued EN

We will discontinue production of the NL series source-sinks on 01.10.2021.

As long as our stock permits, we will still be able to manufacture a few units at the current situation. We do this on a first-come-first-served basis.

Service for the above-mentioned series will continue as long as spare parts can be obtained.

The discontinued NL series is expected to be replaced by the new QL series in Q2/2021.

H&H wants to reduce electronic waste.

These days, the RS-232 interface is hardly ever found on PCs and is as a result rarely used. We have therefore decided that from 23.08.2021 (i.e. after our company vacation) we will no longer supply a null modem cable as standard, but only on explicit request.

We are less concerned with the costs here than with the fact that we don’t want to supply accessories that no one needs and that merely end up in the trash.

We have redesigned our ERI series regenerative loads. Besides a facelift in form of a new user interface, the ERI loads now offer the same functional range as the PLI series. That means the following functions are new:

  • Master-Slave operation in system connection

  • MPP tracking

  • Internal resistance measurement

  • Load current as trigger source

  • Remote notifications

Calibration is an integral part of our manufacturing process. No electronic load leaves our factory without being calibrated carefully and appropriately for the respective purpose – regardless of whether it is a series product or a special solution made to customer order. With each electronic load or 4-quadrant power supply we deliver a Factory Calibration Certificate (FCC).

We will calibrate each device a second time free of charge if a registration for the device in question (serial number) has been received by H&H within the 2-year warranty period. You will then be sent a voucher, the number of which you specify when ordering. 

The recalibration is carried out directly at our premises.

Due to the increased demand for covered 2 U power distributions, we have expanded the model range:

Up to now, the slim 2 U models have only been available as assembled front panels with multiple sockets, some of which switchable, and were only available in conjunction with a control cabinet. Now we also manufacture these as a stand-alone unit in a 2 U housing, either with 6 built-in mains sockets (SE1PH16SE-CB) or with 3 built-in mains sockets and 4 built-in cold device sockets (SE1PH16SU-CB).

As before, models with 3 U are also available. All units serve as central power switches with emergency stop function. The circuits are individually fused. 

Identical models of single-phase and three-phase ACL series loads can now be used for different purposes in master-slave operation, namely

  • System connection to realize a 3-phase system with 3 single-phase devices ACLS

or

ACL Master Slave Parallel
ACLT Master Slave Parallel
  • Channel connection to connect several channels in parallel with up to 3 single-phase ACLS devices or one 3-phase ACLT device to increase power or current

The functions are described in detail in the user manual.

To use the function, firmware version 1.1.x is required in the modules of the respective devices. Please contact H&H Support if you wish to update the firmware of your device(s).

We discontinue production of ZS series electronic multi-range loads with effect from March 31, 2020.

For existing customers we will keep the possibility after the official discontinuation to procure spare devices for existing systems. The duration of this service will depend on material and component availability. Please contact us in this case.

Service and repair for ZS series will be provided as long as a purchase of spare parts is possible.

The discontinued ZS series will be replaced by the new PLI multi-range variant: PLI MR.

In local operation it is helpful for certain applications to be able to switch rapidly between two load levels. For this purpose, we have built in a convenient setting toggling function in the PLI series, similar to that available in the ZS series.

To do this, you define 2 setting values (setting A and setting B), which can be toggled in the main screen by a simple keystroke. Both setting values can be varied in the main screen during runtime.

This setting is useful, for example, for manual recording of step responses in power supplies.

To use this function, firmware version 4.2.2 is required in the user interface module of the respective device. Please contact H&H Support if you want to update the firmware of your device.
